What is God's Plan of Salvation?
The Bible says there is only one way to Heaven.
Jesus said: "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me." (John 14:6)
"There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)
"For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," (1 Timothy 2:5)
We are all sinners separated from God.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," (Romans 3:23)
"Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned:" (Romans 5:12)
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)
Good works cannot save you. But you must be willing to Repent (to turn away from sin).
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Jesus said: "I tell you, no! But, unless you repent, you too will all perish." (Luke 13:5)
"Peter replied, 'Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38)
Believe in your Heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, and rose from the dead.
"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners. Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
Through Prayer, invite Jesus into your life and place your Trust in Him.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." (Romans 10:10)
Jesus said: "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in" (Revelation 3:20)
"Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God," (Acts1:12)
"Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John 3:3)
"Christ in you, the hope of glory" (Colossians 1:27)
You can pray something like this:
Dear God, I admit that I am a sinner and in need of forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ shed his precious blood on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead to give me eternal life. I turn away from my life of Sin. I open the door of my heart and receive Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
AMEN
"Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God," (Acts1:12)
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come." (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2)
Now What?
If you have rejected God’s provision for forgiveness you will die in your sins and face His wrath. But if you have sincerely repented, and asked Jesus Christ to come into your heart, you can be sure that your sins have been forgiven and you will receive power (through the Holy Spirit) to live in union with Him... Now and Forever.
As a Christian you should:
Read from your Bible every day to know Christ better.
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15)
"Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path." (Psalms 119:105)
"Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true." (Acts 17:11)
Talk to God in prayer every day.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." (Philippians 4:6)
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins." (Mark 11:24-25)
"The fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." (James 5:16)
Be Baptized (immersed) in obedience to the Lord.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit:" (Matthew 28:19)
"Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38)
"having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead." (Colossians 2:12)
Gather together with other believers to worship, fellowship and study the Bible.
"Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching." (Hebrews 10:25)
"For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them. (Jesus)" (Matthew 18:20)
"All scripture is God- breathed, and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness:" (2Timothy 3:16)
Tell others about Christ.
"I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes." (Romans 1:16)
"Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." (1 Peter 3:15)
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit," (Matthew 28:19)
Walk in obedience to the LORD.
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrightousness." (1 John 1:9)
"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature shall reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap Eternal Life." (Galatians 6:7,8)
"But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness." (Romans 6:17-18)
Be aware that you have a very real enemy (Satan).
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." (Ephesians 6:12)
"Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you." (James`4:7,8)
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brothers in the world." (1 Peter 5:7-9)
